About

UKeiG: Purposeful Social Media for Libraries & Archives is a training course on using social media with purpose for libraries and archives, held online via Zoom. It is run by UKeiG through the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals and led by Ned Potter, Faculty Engagement Manager at the University of York and a trainer for organisations including the Bodleian and the British Library. The course covers defining goals and audiences, mastering Instagram, considering alternatives like Bluesky, adapting content for platforms from Facebook to TikTok, growing networks, managing the workload, and measuring success through analytics. It is aimed at librarians, IT and information professionals from any sector, as well as colleagues across the cultural sector including museums, galleries and archives.
