12th Reel China Biennial 2026

The 12th Reel China Biennial is a film event running October 30 to November 1, 2026, in New York City. It is organized by the Asian Film & Media Initiative of NYU's Martin Scorsese Department of Cinema Studies and the Center for Religion and Media, co-organized by Professor Zhen Zhang, Professor Angela Zito, and Cristina Cajulis. The program brings bold works by veteran filmmakers from the PRC alongside diaspora and emerging Sinophone voices, including young filmmakers from Japan, Canada, and China. Friday's screenings open with Chinatown Cha-Cha, a tale of an elderly women's dance troupe in San Francisco's Chinatown, and include Three Castrated Goats, with post-screening discussions.
