30 Minute Lightning Lesson: From Search to Shelf (Call Numbers)
Elmer Holmes Bobst Library, Washington Square South 70, 10012 New York, Manhattan
About
A short 30-minute interactive lesson on how to navigate library stacks, teaching how call numbers are organized and how to use them to find books and materials on the shelves. Hosted by NYU Libraries with instructors Alyssa Brissett and Laurie Murphy, it uses short activities to explain the Library of Congress classification system, an alphanumeric system used mainly by academic and research libraries, and builds confidence in navigating the library collection.
