About

Alchemy in Motion is an evening of sensory exploration at the Museum of Arts and Design, held during its Pay-What-You-Wish hours and inspired by Mexican contemporary craft, movement, and making in the season of Dia de los Muertos. Produced by Sandra Morales and Curated Alchemy, it features live music and dance, contemporary crafting, digital art, collective play, and participatory encounters meant to foster awe, empathy, and cultural connection. Visitors can join workshops including a Mexican paper flower workshop by Mano a Mano: Mexican Culture Without Borders, a milagrito heart workshop with Mar Toledano, and a Mexican Loteria photographic game led by Mariana Otalora Chavez. Bajo quinto music by Yair Giuseppe Gomez Acosta accompanies site-responsive dance by Alejandra Villela and Valentina Morka.
