The Ones Who Came Before: author reading.

An author event at the Children's Museum of Manhattan celebrating the release of the picture book The Ones Who Came Before, followed by book signings and activities. Author Kevin Mallaird, the award-winning author of Fry Bread, and illustrator Sibu T.P. appear at the event. The book follows a Native American "city kid" named Aabanya who encounters a bear while visiting her grandfather. Interwoven with indigenous concepts about land and the natural world, the story and its rich, vibrant illustrations explore heritage, ancestry, sharing space, and belonging, and it is open to all ages.
