Book Talk | Carryout by Hasan Dudar

Yu & Me Books hosts a book talk for Carryout, a linked short story collection by Hasan Dudar, published by the University of Iowa Press. The book follows Walid Idilbi, the youngest child of a Palestinian refugee from Lebanon and a Lebanese refugee who open a corner store in Toledo, Ohio in the late 1970s, as he grows up among Toledo's Arab community and becomes a writer. Hasan Dudar, originally from Toledo and now living in Washington, DC, works in broadcast media and won the 2025 Pinch Literary Award in Fiction. He will be in conversation with Reena Shah, author of the novel Every Happiness and the forthcoming story collection Bad Neighbors.
