Celebrating A.A. Pioneer Mrs. Marty Mann
Calvary Church, Park Avenue South 273, New York, Manhattan
About
An evening presentation and tour of Calvary Church honoring the legacy of Mrs. Marty Mann, a pioneer of Alcoholics Anonymous. Mily T., now on a national tour raising awareness of Mann's legacy, hosts the event and weaves the church's history and role in A.A.'s founding into her talk. Mann, sponsored by Bill W., nearly died from alcoholism despite great opportunity, and once sober in 1940 spread the word among early A.A. members; her story, Women Suffer Too, appears in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th editions of The Big Book.
