About
Ecstatic Dance is an evening of guided movement, live music and dance at Judson Memorial Church in New York. It is led by QVLN, a multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer, and DJ Sunny Z, a husband-and-wife duo who bring ecstatic dance and live performance to communities around the world. The night opens with a somatic movement flow to arrive in the body and set an intention, continues with an ecstatic dance set weaving Afro-diasporic rhythms with electronic Global Bass, and closes with gentle movement, breath and stillness. The dance floor is drug-, smoke- and alcohol-free, with no talking or photos, and guests should wear loose clothes and bring a water bottle.
