Einstein on the Beach: Philip Glass's opera live at 50.

The 50th Anniversary Concert of 'Einstein on the Beach', the revolutionary opera by composer Philip Glass and director Robert Wilson, first introduced in 1976. It is performed by The Philip Glass Ensemble led by longtime music director Michael Riesman, with a special artistic installation by award-winning artist and designer Es Devlin inspired by Glass's early writings. First staged at this venue in 1984 and revived in 1992 and 2012, the hypnotic, otherworldly work has permanently rewired the rules of storytelling, stagecraft, and composition.
