About
An in-person film event pairing two features about technology and human connection, shown in the museum's Redstone Theater. After Yang, directed by Kogonada, follows Jake, who must come to terms with what the malfunction of Yang, his young daughter's android companion, means for his family; adapted from a short story by Alexander Weinstein, it stars Colin Farrell, Justin H. Min, Jodie Turner-Smith, Haley Lu Richardson and Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja. It is preceded by Verse, directed by Noam Argov, in which seventeen-year-old Adam decides to meet his VR girlfriend in real life and confronts where his virtual persona ends and his physical self begins, with Taj Cross, Jesse LaTourette and Will Dagger. Both directors appear in person, and both films have received recognition or support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation's program in Public Understanding of Science and Technology.
