About
"Genetic and Neural Basis of Human Instinctive Behaviour" is the Joshua Lederberg Distinguished Lecture in Molecular Genetics, part of Rockefeller University's Friday Lecture Series. It is given by Sadaf Farooqi, professor of metabolism and medicine at Cambridge University. Her lecture explains how genetic disruption of the leptin-melanocortin pathway can cause human obesity by disrupting eating behaviour, and how hypothalamic neural circuits critical for anxiety/fear responses, social interaction and maternal care reveal the role of these circuits in human instinctive behaviour.
