About
A Conversation with a Curator event celebrating the television host Johnny Carson, known as the 'King of Late Night,' who hosted The Tonight Show on NBC for 30 years from 1962 to 1992. Curator Ron Simon leads the salute, presenting rare clips from the Paley Archive, including audio from Carson's first Tonight Show broadcast on October 1, 1962. He is joined by podcaster and comedian Mark Malkoff, author of Love Johnny Carson, a portrait of Carson's life, legacy, and character. Together they revisit the entertainer behind the legend, who appeared on some 4,500 broadcasts and interviewed 25,000 guests.
