House of Time: Circle of Life
Saint Ignatius of Antioch Church, West End Avenue 552, New York, Manhattan
$25
About
A concert titled Circle of Life by the ensemble House of Time, with music by Biber, Strozzi, Purcell, Handel, and Bach. Spectacular soprano Ah Young Hong, praised by The New York Times for her "expressive intensity and fervor," joins the group in a musical tapestry following the course of a woman's life. Childbirth, adolescent pangs of love, marriage, the wisdom of old age, and the end of life are depicted through Baroque music that speaks as vividly today as it did to audiences of the past.
