About
Introduction to Islamic Medicine is an in-person course on Tibb al-Nabawi (Prophetic Medicine), a living, holistic healing tradition grounded in Islam practiced across cultures worldwide. It is taught by instructor Hakim M. Salim Khan M.D. (M.A.) M.H. D.O., principal of the College of Medicine and Healing Arts in the UK, with assistant instructor Sarah Mallik MD, MA, DHNM (Tibb), an Assistant Professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The course introduces the theory and practice of the tradition, explores its spiritual and historical origins, contrasts its paradigm with that of modern industrial medicine, and defines terms such as health, disease, and medicine. Students also engage in experiential learning and reflect on their own health and wellness goals, and the course is open to people of all backgrounds.
