Hunter College, Park Avenue 695, 10065 New York, Manhattan
About
A physics colloquium at Hunter College, open to everyone, with a light lunch and refreshments served. The Physics and Astronomy Department hosts a talk by Euclides Almeida, Associate Professor of Physics at Queens College and the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, on 'Extreme Nonlinear Metamaterials Based on Novel Hybrid Light-Matter States.' His talk covers nonlinear metasurfaces based on hybrid light-matter states, from gold and graphene plasmons to excitons in two-dimensional semiconductors, aiming at ultrathin electro-optical metadevices. The colloquium is hosted by Prof. Janos Bergou in Hunter North Building, Room 1246.
