Saturday Afternoon Cartoons: Time for Halloween

$12–18
About
Time For Halloween is a program of spooky, family-friendly vintage animated shorts shown in 16mm prints from the archive of cartoon historian Tommy José Stathes. Stathes, whose collection began more than 25 years ago as a search for early cartoons unavailable on home video, joins Metrograph at the end of October to usher in the holiday. The selection spans the 1920s through the '50s, featuring musically inclined skeletons, a flapper's Halloween house party, a ghost story by the fireplace, and classic characters such as Casper the Friendly Ghost, Popeye, and Betty Boop. It includes an introduction and Q&A with Stathes.
