Saba Brelvi reads from her debut novel Squatters.

A book launch at the bookstore Yu & Me Books celebrating the debut novel The Squatters by Saba Brelvi. Saba Brelvi is a Muslim American writer from California, and her novel tells of two families colliding in Surrey, where Dalia Waheed tries to help a pregnant refugee, only for the act of compassion to spiral into something far more dangerous. The book explores female friendship, the limits of empathy, and what motherhood demands of us.
