About
Altares Ocultos de Duelo y Memoria (Hidden Altars of Grief and Remembrance) is an exhibition featuring 23 artists impacted by immigration and the communities they represent. It is the fifth edition of the ¡Te Amo Porque S.O.S. Pueblo! project, organized by guest curator Guadalupe Ambrosio as a Queens Museum Community Partnership Exhibition, with design by Ronny Quevedo. Each artwork becomes an altar of remembrance and resistance, honoring ancestors and mourning lives lost to state violence, and showing how immigrant communities build archives of their lives through art, ritual, and collective care. The exhibition runs alongside the Día de Muertos Community Ofrenda.
