About
The Language of Crochet is an 8-week crochet intensive at Drawing Room, held on Saturdays in three-hour sessions and open to all levels in a group of up to 16. It is taught by Luisa, a New York-based Brazilian textile artist and Parsons MFA graduate whose work translates themes of migration, memory, and transformation into sculptural forms. Each week moves the technique in a new direction—shape, motif, openwork, texture, and color—building a growing library of samples, and in the final weeks participants develop a personal project from it. Beginners get the foundations they need, while more experienced makers use the framework to break habits and find their own voice with the hook.
