The Mark Twain Award Weekend

The Mark Twain Award Weekend is a two-day celebration at the Mark Twain House honoring ten years of the Mark Twain American Voice in Literature Award. It opens with an evening ceremony for this year's award winner, which carries a $25,000 cash prize underwritten by David and Michelle Baldacci and honors fiction telling American stories in a uniquely American voice. The evening includes a 25-person VIP reception inside the Mark Twain House, a pre-program reception in Hal Holbrook Hall, and the award presentation before 175 readers, writers, and friends of the museum. It continues Saturday with a symposium on creative writing in the age of AI, exploring the philosophical, ethical, and legal aspects of generative AI and how it is reshaping reading, writing, and teaching of the literary arts.
