Unearthing the Ancient World: Archaeological Dig Educator Workshop
The Jewish Museum, 5th Avenue 1109, 10128 New York, Manhattan
$18
About
A workshop for PreK-12 educators centered on the Jewish Museum's new simulated archaeological dig. Participants learn about the archaeological process and what artifacts reveal about how ancient peoples lived, worked, and interacted. They view original ancient artifacts, excavate replicas of collection objects in the simulated dig, and create a mosaic or clay artifact in the Museum's art studio. Attendees receive a one-year educator pass for free admission and a copy of Archaeology: A Resource for Educators, with light refreshments served and 2 CTLE hours available for New York State teachers.
