Unlimited, MoMath's mix-n-mingle program for middle and high school students; “Loops and Lines: Exploring math through beads and bracelets” featuring MOST Fellow Jasmine Camero
National Museum of Mathematics, 5th Avenue 225, 10010 New York, Manhattan
About
Unlimited is MoMath's mix-n-mingle evening for middle and high school students, a parent-free night of hands-on math activities, dynamic exhibits, an interactive light-up Voronoi dance floor, and boundless cookies and hot cocoa. This session opens with a special program from the Mathematics Outreach Seminar and Training (MOST) program, which lets students explore engaging math with dynamic, early-career female mathematicians. In "Loops and Lines: Exploring math through beads and bracelets," MOST Fellow Jasmine Camero leads students to discover how mathematicians find and study the points that make up curves, then apply those ideas by creating their own bead bracelet. Students must be signed in and out by an adult chaperone, with a possible exception for ages 16 and older showing valid photo ID.
