About
Barbaren Barbies is a show combining acrobatics, dance and theatre with delightfully shocking silliness. Behind it is an international circus collective from Berlin made up of five women from Germany, New Zealand, Canada and Finland. The piece playfully and touchingly takes apart ideas of femininity and clichés, imagining five superheroines as a mix of Berlin underground cabaret and the Vegas Spice Girls. Sabine Rieck directs; the collective has been touring since March 2022 and played the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2024.
