Bookpink: New Arrivals
Deutsches Theater, Schumannstraße 13a, 10117 Berlin, Mitte
About
"Bookpink: New Arrivals" is a theatre evening at Deutsches Theater in Berlin about birds that are strikingly like humans. The author Caren Jeß published her dramatic compendium Bookpink in 2019, a collection of seven miniatures about human abysses and societal debates; following the ATT-Atelier 2024, she now introduces the newcomers of the bird world. Directed by Jorinde Dröse, Bernd Moss, Natali Seelig and Daria von Loewenich appear, among others, as an eagle who despises his chick, as a strict mother and as the hummingbird Mrs Pétain. It is an evening about power, care and fantasy – and about what happens when one takes birds too seriously, or exactly seriously enough.
