About
"Das schlaue Füchslein" is an opera by Leoš Janáček, presented here as a premiere in Fabrice Bollon's version for twelve instruments. The Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler Berlin stages the work with its students. It tells of a wild, curious young vixen who falls into a gamekeeper's hands, stirs up unrest at his lodge, flees back to the forest and finds happiness there, until her life ends abruptly at the poacher's shot. The performance is sung in Czech with German surtitles, preceded by an introduction in German.
