About
Der Herbst im Mittelalter is a one-hour family tour at the Museumsdorf Düppel, an open-air museum run by the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin. It is part of the museum's holiday programme and explores why autumn mattered so much to farming life 800 years ago. Findings from archaeological excavations shed light on who lived along the Havel and Spree around the year 1200 and how the community changed. Visitors can look inside thatched-roof houses, try out a threshing flail and grind grain by hand.
