Silent film at midnight: "The Overcoat" with live organ.

A silent film screening of “Der Mantel” with live organ accompaniment played by Anna Vavilkina. Admission is free. The Soviet silent film by Grigoriy Kozintsev and Leonid Trauberg with Andrei Kostrichin, Antonia Eremeeva and Andrei Kapler tells of an impoverished clerk who is bullied by colleagues and superiors because of his worn-out clothes and dreams of a new coat to gain respect and recognition. The visually powerful adaptation of Nikolai Gogol's story of the same name, which F.W. Murnau also used for “The Last Laugh”, asks whether he will succeed.
