About
The finissage „‚Habe ich den Film erfunden?’ Max Skladanowsky – Pionier, Visionär & Hochstapler“ is a film screening closing an exhibition about the film pioneer Max Skladanowsky at the Bundesarchiv Berlin-Lichterfelde. For the first time, the entire surviving cinematic work of the Skladanowskys will be presented in digitally restored versions, including the Wintergartenprogramm (1895), the Reise- und Berlinbilder (1896), „Eine Fliegenjagd oder Die Rache der Frau Schultze“ (1913) and „Die moderne Jungfrau von Orleans“ (1914). The silent films are shown with recorded, reconstructed and newly composed orchestral accompaniment as well as live music by Cornelius Renz and Christian Strienz. As a special highlight, the modern thumb-cinematographer Volker Gerling will beforehand perform self-made thumb cinemas live.
