About
The feature film „Die Legende des Wüstenkindes“ tells of 14-year-old Sun, whose book is based on a story from her late grandfather about the boy Hadara, who is separated from his caravan in a devastating sandstorm, rescued by a group of ostriches and grows up in the Sahara accompanied only by a young desert fox. When Sun is invited on a trip to the Sahara for a book award, she meets the nomad girl Kharouba and realizes the legend is far more than a bedtime story. Behind the film is wildlife specialist Gilles de Maistre, who offers a gripping insight into the animal life of the desert and the life of nomad peoples and their legends passed down orally through generations. The children's film, rated FSK 6, runs 90 minutes.
