Kleidung reparieren mit der Sashiko-Technik
BUND Berlin, Crellestraße 35, 10827 Berlin, Schöneberg
About
A sewing workshop where participants learn the Japanese Sashiko technique to repair damaged clothes with self-designed patches made from old fabric scraps such as jeans, corduroy or cotton. It is organised by the Koordinierungsstelle Umweltbildung in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, ANAAB - Anhaltend Nachhaltig am Anhalter Bahnhof, Kulturlabor Trial&Error, BUND Berlin e. V. and the Bezirksamt Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. Participants get to know traditional sewing and embroidery stitches for creating decorative lines, shapes and patterns, plus tips on materials and thread choice. Damaged garments can be brought along, and no prior knowledge is needed.
