Casa Carlotta hosts its traditional Martingansessen, a Martinmas goose dinner, followed by a staged reading of Joachim Ringelnatz's poetry. The meal consists of pumpkin cream soup, roast goose with kale, red cabbage and dumplings, and a dessert buffet. The programme „Es wippt eine Lampe durch die Nacht“ was assembled by actor Hagen Möckel, who does not merely recite Ringelnatz's verses but performs them scenically, accompanied on piano by Svetlana Meskhi. Over two hours the audience gets stories of wanderlust and homesickness, sailor's yarn and the German poet's famous blend of nonsense and depth behind whose skurrile rhymes a melancholic undertone hides.
