A reading from the novel „Die Tiefe” as part of the series „Polish Affairs. Polnische Kultur zu Gast in der Stabi”. The dramatist and author Ishbel Szatrawska takes the family home in the Masurian province of the former East Prussia as the starting point for a moving tale of four generations of a family, of the region's multiculturalism and the painful experiences of war, flight, loss of homeland and a new beginning. The event takes place in the Theodor-Fontane-Saal of the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, in cooperation with the Zentrum für Historische Forschung Berlin of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the editor and translator Benjamin Voelkel. Registration is requested.
