About

A reading from the novel "Pulver" by Johann Reißer in the Exerzierhalle of Zitadelle Spandau, held within Spandau's exhibition on the arms industry. The novel, published in 2026, tells the story of an arms factory and its founder Max Duttenhofer, who invented smokeless gunpowder and built up a global corporation within a few decades. His illegitimate granddaughter Rosa experiences the escalation of the armaments spiral into the First World War as a worker in the powder factory. The museum's director Dr. Urte Evert leads the introduction and moderation, accompanied by a tour, many images and an explicit invitation for questions from the audience.
