A costumed tour through Oranienburg in the footsteps of the chemist and natural scientist Friedlieb Ferdinand Runge. Rüdiger Kaddatz slips into Runge's role and takes participants on a historical journey of discovery. Runge, technical director of the Chemische Produkten-Fabrik in Oranienburg from 1832, was far ahead of his time: his discoveries ranged from tar dyes to the study of caffeine, and stearin candles were made here in 1835, paraffin candles in 1840. The candle serves to tell how chemical findings in Oranienburg became products.
