Liebhaberinnen

"Liebhaberinnen" is an absurd-humorous and bitterly tragic feature film. It is a modern adaptation of Elfriede Jelinek's novel "Die Liebhaberinnen", directed by Koxi. It tells of trade fair hostess Brigitte, who always wanted to be special but whose life has become a pile of broken shards: to stay financially afloat she sublets her flat, sleeps in the changing room of her 24/7 fitness studio and promotes luxurious doomsday bunkers. Beside her stands the young Paula, who still has to master life's challenges – a film reminding us how much we remain at the mercy of the economy of love and self-exploitation.
