Musik aus offenen Fenstern – Eine private Zeitreise: Das Akkordeon im Kyjiw des 20. Jahrhunderts

A concert combining literature and accordion music: Yevgenia Belorusets' text series "Musik aus dem Fenster" about her grandfather Michail is paired with the programme of the "Motion Trio". It is about a soldier and later engineer in Soviet Ukraine who listened to forbidden radio stations and improvised melodies in which freedom became tangible. Since 2022 the author has been documenting Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and in the programme she travels back to the Soviet era. The trio's three members began with street concerts and, after fourteen albums, have been acclaimed by both jazz and classical critics.
