A reading from the novel »Offener Himmel« by the Danish author Jonas Eika, moderated by Juliane Liebert. The event is part of the Nordic embassies' Book of the Month series and is held in English. The novel tells of young Ida, who in 1233 in Liège is taken in by Clarisse and brought to a beguinage of self-determined women. There Ida finds spiritual freedom, rises to become a prophet and fights with her visions for a just, non-hierarchical world order while the clergy persecutes her community.
