Öffentliche Führung
Museum Blindenwerkstatt Otto Weidt, Rosenthaler Straße 39, 10178 Berlin, Mitte
About
A public tour of the permanent exhibition of the Museum Blindenwerkstatt Otto Weidt as part of the Berlin Freedom Week 2026. The museum is running the tour, which tells the story of the workshop for the blind, where the small-scale manufacturer Otto Weidt employed mainly blind, visually or hearing-impaired Jews during the Second World War. He tried to protect his Jewish workers from persecution and deportation. The tour introduces various workers, such as the later contemporary witness and co-founder of the museum Inge Deutschkron, as well as the circle of helpers around Otto Weidt.
