Film about the 2001 G8 protests in Genoa.

A screening of the film "OP – Genova 2001" followed by a discussion about the protests against the G8 summit in Genoa in July 2001 and the state repression, including police violence, the fatal shooting of Carlo Giuliani, and abuse at the Bolzaneto police barracks. Director Carlo Bachschmidt, a member of the Genua social Forum who later worked with the lawyers of the Genua legal Forum on the trials against the police, presents the film. It looks at how the summit protest was mobilized, how the state violence was documented and addressed in court, and how anti-repression work developed afterwards. The film is shown in German, the discussion is held in Italian and German.
