Pippi Langstrumpf

»Pippi Langstrumpf« (Pippi Longstocking) is a children's opera in two acts based on Astrid Lindgren, with music by Franz Wittenbrink, commissioned by the Komische Oper Berlin. The libretto is by Susanne Lütje and Anne X. Weber, and the staging marks Dagmar Manzel's directing debut. Pippi moves into Villa Kunterbunt, waits there for her father, a captain lost at sea on their last adventure together, and befriends the neighbourhood children Annika and Tommy. Fearless and refusing to fit into any box, Pippi brings colour to everything – a performance for the whole family, about 2 hours including an interval, recommended from grade 1.
