A monthly book club meeting this time to discuss Brit Bennett's novel "The Vanishing Half". The club is led by bookseller Saleema. It centers on the Vignes twins, who ran away at sixteen from a small southern black community and now live separate adult lives – one back in her hometown with her daughter, the other secretly passing for white. The novel weaves together generations and places from the 1950s to the 1990s into a family story about race, gender and identity. RSVP by email is essential.
