Stadt als Beute – Kritik der Stadt im Theater

A talk evening at the Prater addresses the critique of the city in theatre under the title "Stadt als Beute – Kritik der Stadt im Theater". It is hosted by the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, in solidarity with protesters across Europe. At its centre are the struggles over housing: urban sociologist Andrej Holm speaks together with representatives of Kotti & Co and Deutsche Wohnen & Co. enteignen about gentrification, displacement and socialization. Starting from forced evictions in Spain and the dispute over financial funds speculating with basic needs, the event asks who owns the city and how affordable housing can be secured as a fundamental right.
