The Other Side of the Sun: film on Saidnaya.

A documentary screening about the Syrian torture prison Saidnaya, also known as "the other side of the sun". Filmmaker Tawfik Sabouni returned to the site of his own detention shortly after the fall of Assad's regime in December 2024 and invited four fellow survivors to join him. Together they re-enact their confinement in carefully constructed re-enactments – daily rituals, gestures and moments of survival – filmed inside the former prison. The film gives a voice not only to these five men but also to the thousands who did not survive the Assad regime.
