Utopischer Überschuss: Zukunftserzählungen der DDR-Literatur
Deutsches Theater, Schumannstraße 13a, 10117 Berlin, Mitte
Eintritt frei
About
A talk in the DT Kontext series at the Deutsches Theater's Rangfoyer about science fiction literature of the GDR. The guests are Dr. Karlheinz Steinmüller, a physicist, philosopher and futurologist, and Dietmar Dath, an author and journalist, moderated by Fabian Raith. It asks how GDR science fiction imagined the future, what image of humanity it designed, and what became of those ideas after reunification. SciFi there served as a niche where the present was hidden in the future and shortcomings were named in veiled terms. Admission is free.
