Zwischen Fremde und Traum

An evening of songs and piano music titled „Zwischen Fremde und Traum“, featuring works by Robert Schumann, Franz Schubert, Claude Debussy and Franz Liszt. The programme moves between departure and stillness, between the familiar that slips away and the foreign that gradually becomes one's own. Performing are Volker Nietzke, a South African-born tenor living in Berlin, Xiaohui Li, a soprano who grew up in China, and KaJeng Wong, a pianist from Hong Kong. The evening quietly asks what it means to have no home in Schumann's forests and to sing there nonetheless.
