About

An in-person public lecture at LSE's Thai Theatre in the Cheng Kin Ku Building, examining how communities can prepare for interlocking crises such as climate emergency and authoritarian rule. It is hosted by LSE's Department of Sociology and chaired by Dr David Madden, with Adam Greenfield speaking and Gargi Bhattacharyya and Dubravka Sekulić as discussants. The talk explores the idea of the lifehouse: how measures that defend a neighbourhood against climate collapse, like cooling rooms and communications networks, can also help it survive hostile authorities, and how such collective capacity can be made durable. It runs from 6.30pm to 8pm.
