AI and Buddhism - with Chris Scammell

AI and Buddhism - with Chris Scammell

Kagyu Samye Dzong London, Spa Road 15, Old Kent Road

£5.00

About

An evening course exploring artificial intelligence through a Buddhist lens, covering how large language models work, how AI personas can develop, and what Buddhism says about this technology. It is led by Chris Scammell, co-founder of the Buddhism & AI Initiative and previously Chief Operating Officer of the AI safety company Conjecture, and a former resident of the centre. The first half offers a crash course on large language models and AI agents, including trying older, less polished AI models, while the second half looks at how Buddhist philosophy intersects with AI and projects bridging the AI and wisdom gap. The evening ends with time for questions and group conversation.
