About
A baptism service at Custom House Baptist Church, where believers publicly acknowledge their faith in Jesus Christ by being fully submerged in water. The church explains baptism as a joyful ceremony of conversion, a turning from a sinful past towards Christ, who forgives sins and gives a new start. Those baptised are asked a few questions by the pastor, submerged, and on emerging usually say 'Jesus is Lord', to which all present respond 'Hallelujah!'. The ceremony also marks being formally received into membership of the church.
