Beinghood: Fernanda Gebara and Jemma Foster in conversation.

A hybrid talk and conversation on beinghood, a mode of existence grounded in relation, presence, agency and participation in a world of many beings. It features Fernanda Gebara, Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, in conversation with Jemma Foster, Founder and Director of Wild Alchemy Labs. Drawing on Gebara's forthcoming book Chanting Spring: Indigenous Wisdom for Ancestral Futures and her two decades of work with Indigenous peoples, particularly in the Amazon, the discussion explores plant intelligence, ancestral intelligence and how recognising other beings as sources of knowledge might guide responses to ecological and social crises. It is part of the Chanting for Ancestral Futures event series.
