About

A biomathematics seminar at Imperial College London, open to all and running for one hour in room 140 of the Huxley Building on the South Kensington Campus. The speaker is Alejandro Torres-Sánchez from EML-Barcelona, invited by Barbara Bravi. His talk, 'Can one see a force? Inferring mechanics from images of cells and tissues', discusses how mechanical forces shaping cells and tissues can be inferred from images rather than measured directly. He presents EchoEx, a differentiable simulation framework built on JAX, illustrated by inferring the mechanics of the actin cable during zebrafish gastrulation from live imaging.
